This "American Dream Mega Mall" Has A Massive Theme Park, Water Park, And Shopping Center
Imagine the world's greatest mall and the world's greatest theme park coming together as one, then double it—no, quadruple it—and you'll get the American dream. No, really, that crazy structure in your wildest fantasies is a real thing, and it's actually called the American Dream. The $5 billion structure will be located just five miles outside of New York City in East Rutherford, New Jersey—and it's slated to officially open on October 25th.
What exactly is the American Dream, you might ask? It'll be the third largest retail, entertainment, and lifestyle destination in North America, clocking in at 3 million square feet.
"American Dream is an extraordinary and inclusive community that will mean something different to everyone who visits, whether they are residents of the area or traveling from abroad," Don Ghermezian, the CEO of American Dream, said on its website. "With all of its unique components, this destination will be the realization of our guests’ wildest dreams."
Some of the luxe retail destinations will feature store fronts by Saks Fifth Avenue, Barneys New York, Hermes, Tiffany & Company, Dolce Gabbana, and Moncler—and that's not even close to all of the shopping options. American Dream will also have countless dining options as well, with 20 full service restaurants and enormous food halls to feed the masses.
There will be a Nickelodeon Theme Park, DreamWorks Water Park, Legoland Discovery Center, an aquarium, a bunny aviary, an ice rink, and a ski and snowboard park. TBH, I'm unsure of how this much amazingness will fit entirely into one structure—I guess we'll just have to take the trip to find out.
