A store that targets younger clothing customers will move to the former David's Bridal location in Quail Creek Crossing shopping center on Lawrence Boulevard.

Andy Lee, Quail Creek property manager for the transaction, confirmed the change Monday. He said construction on the site is underway and American Eagle should move in June.

American Eagles Outfitters is the latest to leave the mall since anchor store Dillard's pulled out in August 2022. Quail Creek has benefitted from the hemorrhaging at Sikes Senter, with American Eagle joining Old Navy in migrating there. Bath & Body Works is also opening a store at Quail Creek Crossing, but the company has said it will keep its Sikes Senter location open.

Lee said only one location at Quail Creek Crossing is vacant and he thinks it will be filled soon.

On Monday, foot traffic at Sikes Senter was sparse and more than 20 storefronts were shuttered in the facility that will celebrate its 50th birthday in 2024.

The mall was purchased in early 2021 by Kohan Retail Investment Group, which specializes in buying distressed malls across the country.
