American Idol 2022 winner Noah Thompson doesn’t need a microphone or audience to sing his heart out, and no one knows this better than HunterGirl.

It turns out that she’s been on the receiving end of his musical outbursts. Noah’s team posted an Instagram video of him singing to himself during this year’s CMA Fest. In the short clip, the Kentucky native is heard singing the opening lyrics "now and then" over and over from his single “One Day Tonight” (the same song he performed at the American Idol season finale).

At one point in the video, fans spotted Noah sitting next to HunterGirl (whose real name is Hunter Wolkonowski) while the two got ready. As a makeup artist applied lipstick on HunterGirl, Noah serenaded her from his chair. In a surprise twist, they sang the lyrics together at the end of the snippet.

Reacting to the heartwarming Instagram video, American Idol fans immediately chimed in with their thoughts. While folks noted that HunterGirl didn't seem too elated over Noah's singing, many couldn’t get enough of seeing them together.

“Love to see Noah and @huntergirlmusic having fun,” one person wrote in his comments section. “You [two] are too cute!!💜💜,” another added. “Hunter looks so done with you 😂😂😂,” a different fan said.

What’s more, seeing the American Idol 2022 winner and runner-up harmonize sparked an exciting idea. “A duet with @huntergirlmusic in the future?” a follower quipped.

As viewers of the ABC singing competition show may know, Noah and HunterGirl didn't get the chance to perform together. That said, the two contestants became close friends (even fueling dating rumors) and continue to cheer each other on in their post-American Idol endeavors. But we certainly wouldn’t say no to a Noah and HunterGirl duet down the road!
