Michael Williams' journey on "American Idol" season 21 may have ended, but his music career has only just begun.

Williams, a Mason native and former Kings Island entertainer, will perform a concert as the headliner for the first time Friday, June 16, at Madison Live in Covington. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are currently on sale through Ticketmaster starting at $15.

According to a press release, Williams wants to thank the Greater Cincinnati community for its support through his upcoming concert, where he will perform original singles, covers and songs featured on "American Idol." An opening act has yet to be announced.

Before his "American Idol" debut, Williams, who started taking vocal lessons at 6 years old, appeared on NBC's "The Voice." He was coached by pop star Nick Jonas, before he was eliminated after a Wildcard Instant Save Sing-Off during the live playoff round of the show.

Williams returned to television earlier this year on ABC's "American Idol," where he auditioned with the song "Talking to the Moon" by Bruno Mars in front of judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Williams made it to the top 20 but did not receive enough votes to advance to the top 12. Instead, he landed in the danger zone and sang “Golden Hour” by JVKE for one of two wildcard spots but was ultimately eliminated.

During his time on the show, the local singer performed covers of the songs "Lose You To Love Me" by Selena Gomez, "Tuesday" by Jake Scott and "Angels Like You" by Miley Cyrus.

Since January, Williams, who has been compared to Harry Styles, Shawn Mendes, and Justin Bieber in his vocal ability and performance style, has independently released four singles, “Honey,” “If We Got Us,” “Overthinking,” and “Already Yours.”  He has over 204,000 followers on TikTok and Instagram combined.
