"American Idol" star Phillip Phillips revealed he and wife Hannah Blackwell welcomed their first child into the world.

The Season 11 winner took to Instagram Friday to share news of the birth.

"Sunday morning our little boy made a fast entrance into the world. I cried more than he did. Hannah was an absolute rockstar in delivery and she has been such an amazing mom these last four days," his post says. "I’m forever in love with this little kid. He’s changed me so much already. We can’t take our eyes off of him. He’s perfect. Our prayers were answered and this new journey has begun."

He also announced the little one's name: Patch Shepherd Phillips.

Blackwell shared a similar photo of baby Patch to her Instagram.

"Sunday morning, Patch Shepherd Phillips made me a mama. He came ahead of schedule and on his own terms with speed. No amount of reading or listening can prepare one for this kind of love," she wrote, adding that Phillips has continued to be "the most supportive and loving man I know."

She continued, "I knew from the day I met PP that he would be the best daddy. I don’t know how I am going to handle this whole falling in love over and over again daily. Thanks for all the prayers and love."

This isn't the only celebrity baby that has been welcomed into the world recently.

Earlier this month, Bode and Morgan Miller announced on the "Today" show that they have welcomed the newest — and tiniest — members of their family: identical twin boys.

In October, Shay Mitchell and boyfriend Matte Babel announced their first child.

The new mom said in a tweet that she and Babel had welcomed a baby girl, posting a photo of tiny fingers wrapped around her own. She captioned the sweet picture, "Never letting go..."
