American Legion Jay Wilson Post Auxiliary sets up Giving Tree

Nov. 28—This year the Auxiliary of the American Legion Jay Wilson Post 112 in Madison has set up a Giving Tree.

The intent of the Giving Tree is to invite the community to share in the spirit of Christmas and support families in need of a little extra help at this time of year, according to a news release. From now until Jan. 21, the post will be accepting donations and concurrently, donated items will be available to those needing assistance.

The auxiliary believes "this is an initiative that embodies the true spirit of Christmas, giving the Community an opportunity to come together to give back in a meaningful way," the release stated.

To replace ornaments on the tree, attached will be contributions to benefit all ages. Gifts including socks, scarves, hand warmers, gloves, hats, earmuffs, and light winter-wear will be accepted and available.

New and unwrapped donated gifts can be dropped off inside the post at 6671 Middle Ridge Road and monetary donations will be accepted, as well.
