‘American Ninja Warrior’ Fans Might've Missed These Rare Pics of Akbar Gbajabiamila’s Wife

As a former football star-turned-TV personality, American Ninja Warrior commentator Akbar Gbajabiamila definitely knows a thing or two about having loved ones support him throughout his career. Luckily, The Talk cohost has had one person consistently by his side since his days playing in the NFL — his wife, Chrystal Gbajabiamila.

While the couple has kept much of their marriage private, their romance reportedly started on the football field, according to The Sun. The two are said to have met when Chrystal attended an Oakland Raiders game in 2004, which was the first NFL team Akbar played for in his football career. After connecting, Akbar and Chrystal got married in 2005. While details about their relationship are far and few, the TV personality doesn't pass up opportunities to celebrate his partner of about 17 years.

"Seeing how you dedicate everything to our home and our children I feel very lucky," Akbar captioned an Instagram post honoring Chrystal. "I thank God for the wonderful blessings. It means the world to have you as my wife and the mother of our children. Happy Mother’s Day."

By the sounds of it, Chrystal is the heart of the Gbajabiamila family. In fact, she's never been one to back down from a challenge Akbar throws at her ... even if it's working with her husband's fluctuating eating habits on major family holidays from time to time.

"My wife went to Whole Foods and bought this turkey that was made from cauliflower, but they shaved it to make it look like a half breast," Akbar revealed to Parade in a June 2018 interview about him going vegan. "I thought, 'Oh, I can’t wait.' I cut into it and I bit it ... In my head I thought it would taste differently. They probably seasoned it and did something to make it taste like a turkey, but it was a cauliflower. I’m grateful that I had food, but a week after that I was like, 'I’m done.'"

Well, at least the NFL Network analyst has his wife's support in whatever he wants to try out. Speaking of home life, while the two choose to keep the inner-workings of their romance under wraps, there is one aspect of their marriage they love to share with Akbar's followers. He loves featuring his home life with the couple's four children: Elijah, Saheedat, Nasir and Naomi. From the TV personality's love of sports challenges to taking part in the latest TikTok trend, the kids are always up for some fun.

Though Akbar rarely opens up about his wife on The Talk or American Ninja Warrior, his family does make appearances on the CBS daytime show from time to time. Case in point, this past December, the Gbajabiamila crew stopped by The Talk donning festive sweaters to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

What's more, Akbar has also shared the occasion video of Chrystal, giving folks a further glimpse of their marriage. Unsurprisingly, she's also got some moves like her husband as seen in an Instagram/TikTok clip. Well, we'll now be on the lookout for other sweet social media moments, courtesy of Akbar.

Take for example, last year's Valentine's Day message. "😍 #happyvalentinesday to my love. One day isn’t enough to express the amount of love," he captioned a rare Instagram photo of him and Chrystal. So sweet!
