American To Relaunch Flights To Bermuda From JFK Airport This Year

Bermuda is one of the favorite destinations of the Travel Noire family. This Caribbean island is filled with paradisiac beaches and exquisite landscapes that lure visitors from all over the world. Now, travelers planning to visit Bermuda soon will have more flight options by the end of the year.  American Airlines has recently announced that it is relaunching flights to Bermuda from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.

This is great news for those who want to enjoy this tropical beauty and pink-sand beaches. Located just around 600 miles east of the United States. Besides its amazing nature, the island also offers amazing hotels, restaurants, and adventures, such as helmet diving. In fact, Bermuda is the perfect long-weekend escape.

According to the US carrier, the service, which has not operated for more than two years because of the pandemic, will resume in November.

American Airlines currently offers Bermuda service from cities including Miami, Philadelphia and Charlotte.

The flights will resume on November 3, operating daily on American’s Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

“We are proud to continue to expand our footprint in the Caribbean with more flying to the destinations that our customers value the most, operating this year up to 151 daily flights to 35 destinations in the region,” said Jose María Giraldo, American’s Managing Director for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean in a press release.

“With the return of our New York service, this winter we look forward to operating 28 weekly flights to Bermuda, strengthening our position as a leading airline in the Caribbean,” he added.

According to the rating agency Moody’s, Bermuda is currently showing a recovery in the tourism sector and investments in new hotel developments will boost growth performance in the coming years. In 2021, the tourism sector started to recover from the pandemic shock, and activity in the sector will likely approach its pre-pandemic level in 2022. “Moody’s expects tourism arrivals to be stronger in 2022 as first quarter of the year showed improvements. In Q1 2022, total leisure arrivals increased to over 7,000 from only 1,734 in the first quarter of 2021,” the rating agency stated on its website.
