American, Southwest beat Wall Street expectations despite 737 MAX grounding

American Airlines and Southwest Airlines are out with third quarter earnings today, and both carriers beat Wall Street expectations. Each airline said the grounding of the Boeing 737 MAX planes did play a role in their business.
