Who should be the American-Statesman girls and boys athlete of the week?
Last week, Westlake proved once again that it has the best Class 6A football squad in the area with a win over upstart Dripping Springs behind a stout defense. Vandegrift eyes capturing the District 25-6A crown in its first win over Round Rock since 2019 and Regents is still the gold standard when it comes to Central Texas private schools.
Several athletes shined and are finalists for the American-Statesman's girls and boys high school athletes of the week, a new feature this year honoring prep students that will be voted on each week by the public.
