AYER, Mass. (AP) _ American Superconductor Corp. (AMSC) on Tuesday reported a loss of $3.5 million in its fiscal first quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Ayer, Massachusetts-based company said it had a loss of 17 cents. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 30 cents per share.
The wind turbine component maker posted revenue of $13.8 million in the period.
For the current quarter ending in October, American Superconductor expects its per-share loss to be 36 cents.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $12 million to $15 million for the fiscal second quarter.
American Superconductor shares have dropped 32% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $7.57, an increase of 31% in the last 12 months.
