Amherst St. fire destroys Nashua restaurant, Asian market

Oct. 1—A fire burned a strip mall building on Nashua's Amherst Street, destroying a pizzeria and an Asian grocery.

Just after 7 p.m. Friday, Nashua firefighters were called to a fire on Amherst Street, at a smaller building between the Everett Turnpike exit and Continental Boulevard, according to a news release from the Nashua Fire Department.

Firefighters found the businesses Ciao's Pizza and Lanna Asian Market engulfed in flames when they arrived, and called more firefighters to the Amherst Street blaze.

The fire was under control within an hour, according to the fire department.

No one was hurt, but fire and smoke damage destroyed the building.
