Amphenol: Q4 Earnings Snapshot

WALLINGFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Amphenol Corp. (APH) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $507.5 million.

On a per-share basis, the Wallingford, Connecticut-based company said it had net income of 82 cents. Earnings, adjusted for pretax gains, were 78 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 75 cents per share.

The maker of fiber-optic products posted revenue of $3.24 billion in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.13 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $1.9 billion, or $3.06 per share. Revenue was reported as $12.62 billion.

For the current quarter ending in March, Amphenol expects its per-share earnings to range from 65 cents to 67 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $2.84 billion to $2.9 billion for the fiscal first quarter. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had expected revenue of $3.16 billion.

Amphenol shares have climbed slightly more than 4% since the beginning of the year, while the S&P's 500 index has fallen 16%. The stock has risen roughly 3% in the last 12 months.
