Central Florida suspects shoot at, flee from police with toddler in tow

A Central Florida man and woman are in custody after shooting at the police Wednesday night.

The Cocoa Police Department said both suspects are facing felony charges after fleeing from a traffic stop, according to a post on their Facebook page.

Cocoa officers said they were conducting a traffic stop on the man and woman for a traffic violation when the woman started driving away.

Officers said the man in the passenger seat fired at least three rounds at police.

Brevard County deputies joined Cocoa officers on a northbound chase on US 1.

The chase ended when the woman crashed into another vehicle in Titusville, where officials found an unsecured toddler in the car.

The child was not injured.

No officers were harmed in the shooting.

The suspects face multiple felony charges.
