Edgewater Mall in Biloxi closes after reports of gunshots fired

Edgewater Mall was evacuated Saturday afternoon after a report of shots fired was called into police, WXXV-25 TV reports.

Biloxi police and Harrison County sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene. Photos from WXXV show heavy police presence outside of the mall.

Photos from the food court show bags of food still on tables, items thrown to the floor and some chairs turned over.

Police are investigating and are still working to process the scene.

According to WXXV, Biloxi police and the Harrison County Sherrif’s Department has not been able to confirm any victims or if there was shots fired. The decision was made by personnel at the mall to close the mall for the evening.

Terry Powell, Edgewater Mall’s general manager, said the mall will remain closed until noon Sunday.
