Ukraine may receive MiG-29s from several countries, Poland says

"Decision on transfering MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine are to be made by several countries," he stated.

“We already have clear statements about which countries these will be.”

Müller declined to name the countries in question, but promised the details of these decisions will be announced in due course.

"I can only confirm that these decisions are being made between several countries, and it is not my responsibility to report on behalf of these countries," he said.

“We have agreed that they will announce such decisions in their own time and in accordance with the relevant procedures.”

Müller added that Warsaw is ready to make such a decision "together with several countries that have decided to take a similar step."

Earlier, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that Warsaw could supply Ukraine with MiG-29 fighter jets in the next four to six weeks.

President Andrzej Duda announced that Warsaw could give all of its MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine. On March 9, Slovak Defense Minister Jaroslav Nad’ confirmed Poland's plans for a joint transfer of aircraft.

Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat said that the process of providing fighter jets had moved forward. At the same time, he emphasized Kyiv's need for more modern aircraft, such as F-16s.

Ihnat noted that the new MiG-29s could be used as spare parts for Ukraine’s current fleet of fighter jets.
