Amy Coney Barrett said politics have no place in courtrooms

Many Republicans have hailed Amy Coney Barrett, the federal circuit court judge who is a favorite to be President Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court, as a dream candidate: a relatively young woman of impeccable conservative credentials. She is a critic of Roe v. Wade, the 1973 decision that legalized abortion, and of the Affordable Care Act, the Obama-era health law that Trump wants badly to dismantle. She has upheld restrictive immigration statutes while protecting corporations from lawsuits.
