The Pardee Hospital Foundation Board of Directors has announced that Amy Treece has been named Executive Director for the organization. Treece has held the role of Interim Executive Director since June and will step into the permanent post immediately, according to a news release from Pardee.

“The Pardee Hospital Foundation exists to educate and inspire the community to support Pardee UNC Health Care. From its signature annual events to its critical initiatives and programs including Women Helping Women (WHW) and the Pardee Cancer Center capital campaign, the Foundation provides financial sustainability to a nonprofit health system devoted to improving the lives and health outcomes of its community,” the release states.

Treece's relationship with Pardee UNC Health Care is deeply rooted as it goes back to the day she was born at Pardee Hospital. Many years later, she found herself crossing paths with Pardee once again, when her grandfather received treatment for his cancer. Encouraged by her employer and wanting to volunteer in her community, she sought out ways to give back.

It was an easy decision for her to give her time volunteering with the Pardee Hospital Foundation because she wanted to give back to the hospital that had already helped her family so much in caring for her grandfather. She began volunteering with the Women Helping Women committee, eventually joining the Pardee Foundation Board and serving as chairman. Over the years, Treece fell in love with the mission of the hospital and the Foundation and knew that was where she wanted to spend her time.

Now as the Executive Director, it's her vision for the Foundation to continue to educate the community about the healthcare services available close to home through Pardee and that it's not necessary to travel far from home to receive the care they need and deserve.

"I think the residents of all the counties that Pardee serves deserve the best of everything: the best schools, the best employers, and the best healthcare," Treece said. "Pardee is part of that and it's what the Pardee Hospital Foundation strives to do by providing support to the people that are caring for our patients." She notes that support comes in many forms, from state-of-the-art equipment to programs that improve the health of our community.

Treece has served on the WHW committee for more than 10 years and was co-chair for three of those years. This year, the WHW program is celebrating 25 years of supporting countless women in Henderson County through healthcare challenges. To date, the program has raised more than $2 million, helping women in the community learn about the importance of early detection and receiving treatment and in turn, being able to go on to live healthy lives.

Prior to taking on this role, Treece served as Pardee’s Director of Community and Government Relations Officer. Treece also served as a Foundation Board member for five years, holding the roles of Vice President of Development, Vice President of Governance, and Chair of the Board.

“We all know Amy to be an ardent supporter and champion of the Foundation, Pardee and our community,” said Marilyn Gordon, Chair, Pardee Hospital Foundation Board. “Amy’s deep commitment to our community and Pardee make her an excellent choice to lead our organization.”

Pardee Hospital Foundation was approved as a non-profit Foundation in January 1996. Since its inception, the Foundation has generated over $30 million in pledges and cash gifts for Pardee services.
