Doña Ana Community College will accept Vista College students, program to start in fall 2022
LAS CRUCES - The Doña Ana Community College Nursing Program announced Thursday it will accept students from the recently closed Vista College in Las Cruces.
DACC is currently seeking approval for a stand-alone Licensed Practical Nurse program in order to transition LPN students from Vista College to DACC. DACC should receive approval from the New Mexico Board of Nursing by January 2022 with the program slated to begin in the fall of 2022.
DACC currently has a career ladder program that allows students to grow in their educational careers to become LPNs. A stand-alone LPN program will assist LPN students in continuing the education they may have started at another school.

Vista College was abruptly shut down on Oct. 8, claiming bankruptcy and leaving students stranded with nowhere to complete their higher education.
In order to apply for the LPN program, students must apply to DACC at https://dacc.nmsu.edu/admissions/apply-online/.
Once admitted, students will need to submit transcripts, which can be unofficial if applying from a closed campus. Students can then set up an appointment with an advisor to plan their track at DACC, and receive information regarding their courses and financial aid. DACC encourages students to contact the New Mexico Higher Education Department for a copy of official transcripts, as well as the Federal Financial Aid Department to begin the process of applying for loan forgiveness.
