Sheryl Crow will perform at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, Calif., on March 4, 2023.

Pop: In 2019, Sheryl Crow released the album "Threads" and announced it would be her final full-length record, but she continued to put out singles and go on tour. Crow told NPR: "It's almost a dying art form in that people cherry-pick songs and put them on playlists." She has continued performing concerts and has since released the singles "Circles" and "In The End."

The former background vocalist who toured with Michael Jackson and sang on albums by Stevie Wonder, Don Henley and Jimmy Buffett became an overnight sensation when she released her 1993 debut album "Tuesday Night Music Club." The single "All I Want To Do" was No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks in 1994 and won a Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

She continued to have hits throughout the '90s and into the 2000s, and collaborated with such artists as the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Smokey Robinson and Tony Bennett.

Crow will perform Saturday at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.

If you go: 8 p.m. Saturday, Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, 84-245 Indio Springs Parkway, Indio. $79 to $129. 760-342-5000. fantasyspringsresort.com

Funk musician George Clinton will perform at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa in Cabazon on March 3, 2023.

Funk: What do Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Wu-Tang Clan and many others in the rap world have in common? They were influenced by funk musician George Clinton, who took on an outer space persona with eccentric attire and performed groovy songs such as "Atomic Dog," "Bop Gun" and "Flash Light."

Many of his songs have been sampled in hits by rap artists. One popular example was Dr. Dre featuring the song "Mothership Connection (Star Child)" in the 1992 tune "Let Me Ride."

The 81-year-old musician will perform on Friday at Morongo Casino Resort and Spa.

If you go: 9 p.m. Friday, Morongo Casino Resort and Spa, 49-500 Seminole Drive, Cabazon. Tickets start at $39. 951-849-3080. morongocasinoresort.com

Sammy Hagar and The Circle will perform at Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa in Rancho Mirage, Calif., on March 4, 2023.

Rock: Before he joined Van Halen in 1985, rock vocalist Sammy Hagar fronted the band Montrose and enjoyed a successful solo career of his own. While many Van Halen fans preferred original singer David Lee Roth and labeled it "Van Hagar," the 1986 album "5150" was a commercial success and a comeback for the band, and so were subsequent releases and tours until Hagar was fired to pave the way for Roth's brief return. Hagar returned to Van Halen in 2003 but was out again two years later.

When Hagar hasn't been making and selling tequila, he's been active with his solo career and other projects, such as the supergroup Chickenfoot with former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, guitarist Joe Satriani and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.

Hagar will perform Saturday at Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa in Rancho Mirage with his band The Circle featuring Anthony, guitarist Vic Johnson and drummer Jason Bonham.

If you go: 8 p.m. Saturday, Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa, 32-250 Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage. $75 to $150. 888-999-1995. aguacalientecasinos.com
