Anchor Recovery Foundation, was formed Aug. 3, 2018 with the mission to provide resources assisting individuals in recovery from substance abuse. The foundation partnered with DJ DEMP, international celebrity DJ, to open “DEMP House” sober living in May of 2021 to address the community’s need for transitional housing. “I’m blessed to use my platform as a way of giving back to the community,” said DJ DEMP, DEMP House President.

“Every life has a purpose, the anchor is a symbol of hope, and there is hope for everyone,” said Surina Pillay, Anchor Recovery Foundation President. We provide clients with stability through faith-based counseling, and safe, affordable sober living to ensure the best possible outcome towards their recovery,” said Pillay. “The focus on long-term aftercare and the convenience of transitional housing helps us provide better services to our clients.”

Our theme for this year’s charity gala is “Spiritual Transformation.” “We started DEMP House during the pandemic and experienced our share of challenges. However, we managed to create a safe, sober living environment for dozens of individuals transitioning from a life of addiction to a life of sobriety and look forward to continuous growth, ”said Pillay.

This year DEMP House plans to raise funds in order to open another DEMP House in the near future. “Donations are a vital source of funding for our sober living program and fundraising ensures its success,” said Pillay. All donations and contributions are tax-deductible.
