‘Anchorman,’ ‘The Office’ star David Koechner to appear at Harbor Park

Actor David Koechner, best known for his roles as Champ Kind in “Anchorman” and Todd Packer in “The Office,” will appear at Harbor Park on July 29, the Norfolk Tides announced Thursday.

Koechner will be on hand for special meet-and-greet opportunities and is set to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Tides take on Nashville at 6:35 p.m. Gates will open at 5 p.m.

Fans will have four opportunities to meet Koechner and have their photos taken:

  • There will be a special VIP meet-and-greet opportunity from 5-6:15 p.m. in Suites PR2 and PR3. The event will only accommodate 50 guests and will include a box-seat ticket in the main seating bowl and all-you-can-eat food during the event.

  • There will be an express photo pass available that will move fans into a faster line to get their photos taken with the actor on the concourse. The pass will include a box-seat ticket. The package will also include a special cupcake concession item. There is a limit of 50 express photo passes available, with an individual pass available for $45.

  • Fans can pay $35 for a photo voucher ticket that includes a box-seat ticket and a guaranteed spot in line to get their photo taken with the actor. These tickets will be limited to 150 and must be purchased in advance. Each person who would like a photo with Koechner will need their own photo voucher ticket.

  • Fans can pay $20 to get their photo taken with the actor. Every effort will be made to get as many fans through the photo line as possible on what is expected to be a busy night. However, the Tides cannot guarantee that every fan in attendance will get their photo taken with the actor. Fans will only be charged the $20 if they get their photo taken. Fans who chose this option should arrive early and stop by the third-base concourse to get a photo standby voucher, which is intended to prevent fans from having to wait in line.

All ticket options are available by calling (757) 622-2222, ext. 101 or ext. 115. They can also be purchased online or at the Harbor Park box office. Promotion game dates are subject to change.

Koechner is a native of Missouri and an avid baseball fan. He got his first break as a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” and since has become an instantly recognizable face, appearing in more than 120 films and television shows.
