Anderson County Trunk-or-Treat events. Here's where you can take children for candy, fun.

Trunk-or-Treat, while it's not as traditional as Trick-or-Treating, is gaining popularity as a fun way to celebrate Halloween.

Trunk-or-Treat allows children to collect candy from a stationary location rather than from door to door. Trunk-or-Treat is also a great way to bring people together for a community event.

There will be numerous Trunk-or-Treat Halloween events around Anderson County.

Here is a rundown of Anderson County Trunk-or-Treat events:

Anderson Lights of Hope

Anderson Lights of Hope will host its 6th annual Trunk of Treats event on Oct. 24 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The free event will be held at 150 Rose Valley Blvd.

There will be free food, candy, crafts and vendors. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs. To learn more about the event click here.

Children of all ages are invited to dress up in costumes.

"This will be a fun event for all ages, a great outing for family and friends to attend. We want to create a safe environment for family and friends to come out and enjoy," Lights of Hope marketing coordinator Jennifer Merritt said.

Logan's Roadhouse

Logan's Roadhouse will cook burgers and hot dogs and the staff will be handing out candy and treats to children from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

"The trunk or treat event is a great opportunity to get Logan's Roadhouse involved in the community," Logan's manager Travis Kernels said.

Boograss Tuesday Nights

Bluegrass and Company is a band of three musicians from Pickens County. The band is known for playing music at churches, festivals and private events in and around the community and neighboring states.

Bluegrass and Company will perform from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Three members make up the bluegrass band, with Elijah Ellenburg playing the banjo and upright bass. Alyssa White plays guitar, and mandolin, and sings. Malachi Ellenburg plays the fiddle, and mandolin, and sings.

According to an email from Bluegrass and Company band members "they are looking forward to sharing their faith and their love for Bluegrass Music with the folks in and around the Anderson, South Carolina area at the 6th Annual Boograss Trunk~or~Treat event on Oct. 24 from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. "We hope to see you there!"

Eggs up Grill

On Oct. 28, Eggs Up Gill will host Trunk-or-Treat from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can find the restaurant at 1601 East Greenville Street.

The restaurant will be open for dining with a number of vendors on site.

"I think it's great that so many locations are having trunk or treats. I think it's great that kids are getting to celebrate Halloween in a safe way," Eggs Up Grill employee Ashley Crooks said.

As part of Halloween festivities, vendors will give away free candy to children and will also have a variety of snacks, treats and other items available for purchase.

Vendors include Kaylie Bracelets, Wedgewood Kids, Two Broke Girls Rescue, Joyful Creations, At Last Antiques. TLC Custom Station. Klutch Fitness. Cookie Cutter, Lush Salon, Black Leather Poet and Wickedly Creative.

Donations will be used to purchase gifts for local children in need.

Last year we were able to help 17 families in need, and we hope to help more this year," Crooks said.

Bagger Treat

The Bagger's motorcycle non-profit organization will host its 7th annual Bagger Treat. The free event will be held at Anderson Mall on Oct. 21 from 5 to 9 p.m.

We are always looking for donations to fund the event. Every very little bit helps," Bagger Treat founder Matt Atkinson said.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Bagger organization.

"The motorcycle community does a lot for the community that people don't know about. It gives us the opportunity to give the kids a safe place to trick-or-treat, and we get to witness the smiles on their faces," Atkinson said.
