Anderson .Paak May Have Invested More Of His 'Silk Sonic Money' Into A New Restaurant That Serves Mexican Food From Scratch

Along with supplying his fans with certified funk music, Anderson .Paak is putting those in his hometown of Los Angeles onto good eats.

With his business partner Christian Corben — founder of Taisho Hospitality — the “Silk Sonic” singer recently opened a new restaurant in Sherman Oaks.

New Mexican Restaurant In L.A.

Casita — a Mexican restaurant and bar — officially opened on June 27, according to its Instagram page. In May, .Paak and the team gave a sneak peek to what was in store.

Located on Ventura Boulevard’s Restaurant Row, Casita is a new restaurant that is all about serving modern Mexican fare that’s all made from scratch, as described by its website. Its crew aims to create an experience where customers feel like they’re in Tulum, Mexico from the food’s flavors to the dining ambiance.

Currently, the menu offers the likes of street tacos, quachiles, salads, craft margaritas, and more.

Anderson .Paak's First Restaurant

The unique Mexican experience is the sister restaurant to Taisho Japanese Restaurant & Bar, which is across the street. Its opening in 2021 officially made .Paak a restaurant owner, according to Global Grind.

“The boy done invested his #silksonic money in the best sushi in town! The foodies are calling it “BUSSIN!!“ Come see for yourself! Shout out my parter @mr.corben tell them you know AP and they will charge you full price with no hesitation! God is the greatest! @taisho_shermanoaks IS NOW OPEN !! #DontAskForNoDiscounts #TAISHO,” he shared in an Instagram post, per the outlet.

Dynamic Business Duo

Corben ventured into launching his own restaurants alongside his business partner Paul Carroll after working for other companies. The founder has 25 years of experience under his belt and works to “focus on genuine hospitality from the heart, like a commanding general leading hospitality,” per a report from Ventura Blvd.

First Japanese and now Mexican, we wonder what cuisine .Paak and Corben will take on next.
