Per the press release, the Audible Original adaptation "stays faithful to the original text, leaning into the horror of the dystopian setting, whilst going deeper into Winston and Julia's love story. In a world where love and sex are forbidden, Winston and Julia are the last lovers on earth."

Directed by BAFTA award winning Destiny Ekaragha, the latest adaptation of Orwell's dystopian novel will be released globally on April 4, 2024, exactly 40 years after the date of Winston's first diary entry.

The adaptation will feature a score from Muse front-man Matthew Bellamy, who has teamed up with award-winning composer Ilan Eshkeri to create an original score which will include reworkings of two of Muse's most iconic tracks.
