Andrew Yang tests positive for COVID-19 amid NYC mayoral campaign

Amid his campaign for mayor of New York City, Andrew Yang has tested positive for COVID-19.
The entrepreneur, who officially entered New York City's 2021 mayoral race last month, said Tuesday he received a positive COVID-19 test result after testing negative over the weekend and is experiencing "mild symptoms" but "am otherwise feeling well." He added he'll quarantine but keep campaigning virtually.
"During this time, I will continue to attend as many virtual events as possible, in addition to working with our incredible campaign team to continue our mission of getting New York City back on its feet," Yang said. "When the time is right, I look forward to once again hitting the campaign trail and advancing a positive vision for our city's future."
Yang, a former candidate in the 2020 Democratic presidential primaries, previously announced on Jan. 19 he would quarantine after a staffer tested positive for COVID-19 soon after his campaign began. He has run, The New York Times' Dana Rubinstein wrote, "what is arguably the most active in-person mayoral campaign in NYC."
