Andriy Shevchenko's son seeks Ukrainian citizenship

Watford youth team striker and son of Ukrainian football legend Andriy Shevchenko, Kristian Shevchenko, has expressed a desire to obtain Ukrainian citizenship, reported Ukrainian sports news Sport.ua on Feb. 9.

Shevchenko Jr. has submitted the necessary documents for acquiring Ukrainian citizenship. Born in London in 2006, he previously played for the youth teams of Chelsea and Tottenham.

Last summer, he signed a two-year contract with Watford and is currently part of the U-18 team.

Shevchenko Sr., who serves as the President of the Ukrainian Association of Football (UAF), earlier reportedly attended the UEFA Congress.
