Andy’s Frozen Custard just opened a Johnson County location. Now it’s adding another
Springfield’s Andy’s Frozen Custard is adding another area location.
The new shop, at 13981 W. 135th St. in Olathe, by Menards, is scheduled to open this fall. It will have a drive-thru, walk-up window and patio.
Andy’s has 134 company-owned and franchised locations in 15 states, including a dozen in the Kansas City metro. One recently opened at 11220 Nall Ave., Overland Park (its fourth location in Overland Park). It also plans a fall opening for a new freestanding shop in Tiffany Square East, 6000 N.W. 88th St.
Andy’s plans to open more than 25 new locations this year and has more than 100 in development.
Former Raytown residents founded the company nearly 40 years ago with a mission to use only the freshest ingredients. John and Carol Kuntz opened the first Andy’s in Osage Beach, Missouri, naming it after their son Andy, who is now president and chief executive officer.
The menu includes concretes, hot fudge sundaes, banana splits, malts, shakes, frozen custard blended sodas, floats and seasonal treats such as the current strawberry shortcake sundaes and pumpkin pie concretes starting in mid-September.
