Andy Tracy to return as Columbus Clippers manager as staff stays mostly intact

Andy Tracy will return as manager of the Clippers, the Cleveland Guardians announced Thursday.
It will be Tracy's second season managing the Clippers. They were 59-68 in 2021. Tracy was the Columbus hitting coach in 2019 and was hired as manager before the 2020 season was canceled.
Tracy, 48, played collegiately at Bowling Green before playing professionally for the Montreal Expos, Colorado Rockies and Philadelphia Phillies, with stints in the minor leagues for the New York Mets, Baltimore Orioles and Arizona Diamondbacks.
Tracy spent seven seasons coaching in the minor leagues with the Phillies organization before being hired by Cleveland.
The Guardians also announced that Rigo Beltran will remain as pitching coach and will be assisted by Cody Buckel, in the team’s newly created role of pitching strategist.
Jason Esposito will return as hitting coach for the second season and Jeremy Heller will be in his third year as athletic trainer.
New to the staff will be bench coach Kyle Lindquist and strength and conditioning coach Trent Kaltenbach. Lindquist graduated from Worthington Kilbourne before playing at Marietta College.
The Clippers open their season April 5 at Lehigh Valley, with the home opener set for April 12 vs. Syracuse.
