Angel Reese joins exclusive club after leading LSU to Final Four with dominant tournament performance

LSU’s women’s basketball team is heading to its first Final Four since 2008, and Angel Reese has been a major reason why.

One of the most dominant players in the country all season, Reese has stepped it up since the beginning of the NCAA women’s basketball tournament. In four games, she’s totaled 89 points, 69 rebounds, 14 blocks and 10 steals.

According to a Twitter post from the SEC Network, she becomes just the third player since 2000 to record 80 points, 60 rebounds, 10 blocks and 10 steals in a tournament — and she still has at least one (and potentially two, if LSU can reach its first-ever national championship) games to go.

Even in a down game offensively in Sunday night’s Elite Eight win over Miami, Reese still recorded 13 points and 18 rebounds, notching her 32nd double-double this year, which is a single-season SEC record.

If LSU is able to get over the Final Four hump for the first time when it faces either Virginia Tech or Ohio State on Friday night, Reese is sure to be a primary factor.
