Angel Tree signups for Grady, Caddo Counties slated for October

Sep. 28—The Salvation Army of Grady and Caddo Counties is making their Christmas list for children who otherwise might not have a present under the tree.

The Angel Tree Program provides gifts to eligible children in Grady and Caddo Counties. Guardians and parents can sign up their child for the Angel Tree program over the next couple of weeks.

In Grady County, signups will take place between 9 a.m. and noon on Oct. 10-11 at 2402 S. 16th St. in Chickasha.

In Caddo County, signups will take place between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at 515 W. Garrett St. in Anadarko.

Applicants should bring a list with pant, shirt, underwear and shoe sizes and a few different toy choices for each child.

Applicants will need to bring proof of residency for Grady or Caddo Counties for head of household, a picture ID of the person making the application and one of the following: birth certificates, shot records and school records for all children between infant and 12 years of age.

The Salvation Army of Grady and Caddo Counties uses SNAP benefit guidelines as an income screen tool for eligibility.

Applicants need to bring their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Benefit award letter (not card), or if not receiving SNAP, proof of income in the form of current paycheck stubs, unemployment benefit paperwork, DHS paperwork or SSI paperwork.
