Angelina Jolie, 43, is passing on her love of film to her children.

The director and Oscar-winning actress brought all six of her children to New York City for a special screening of the film ‘The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind’.

Jolie served as moderator for a panel discussion with the film’s director, Oscar-nominated actor Chiwetel Ejiofor. Ejiofor’s directorial debut centres on the story of a boy who built a windmill to help save his Malawian village from famine.

William Kamkwamba, the man whose memoir inspired the film, joined the famous actors to share his inspiring story about overcoming adversity.

Jolie and Pitt, who were together for 11 years, agreed to a custody agreement in November of last year, granting the actress primary custody of all six children.

The split of the Hollywood power couple came after authorities were called for an altercation that occurred while the family were travelling from France to California in September 2016.

According to reports, the couple argued after Pitt became “verbally abusive and physical” with the children and began arguing with Jolie. An investigation cleared Pitt of any child abuse claims, at which time Jolie had already filed for divorce.

In a 2017 interview with Vanity Fair, Jolie revealed that both she and the children were doing their best to remain strong in the wake of the breakup.

“We care for each other and care about our family, and we are both working towards the same goal,” Jolie said of her estranged husband at the time.

“I was very worried about my mother, growing up — a lot I do not want my children to be worried about me. I think it’s very important to cry in the shower and not in front of them. They need to know that everything’s going to be all right even when you’re not sure it is.”
