Angelo State men, women each finish in top 15 at national track meet

Angelo State's men and women each had top-15 finishes in the team standings Saturday at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Allendale, Michigan.

The Rambelles collected 18 points in the meet to finish 13th overall as a team, while the Rams scored 19 points to take 15th in the men's standings.

On the final day of the national meet, ASU's Talena Murray was fifth in the women's javelin with a throw of 152 feet, 11 inches. Viktor Ertelt was sixth in the men's javelin with a mark of 218-5.

Antonija Radic was sixth in the women's high jump after clearing a height of 5-8.

The women's 4x400-meter relay team took fifth overall as Shiean Walters, Zykia McDaniel, Genevie Rivera and Maricia Spence combined for a time of 3:40.44.

The Rams and Belles combined for 11 All-American performances on the weekend, which is earned by a finish in the top 12 at the national meet.
