Angelo State track and field teams make noise at Rumble in the Jungle

Angelo State University's Antonija Radic placed first in the high jump and second in the long and triple jump, highlighting a strong showing by the Rams and Belles at the Rumble in the Jungle track and field meet in Pittsburg, Kansas on Friday.

The Rams and Belles had multiple top-five finishes and three provisional marks.

Radic cleared 5 feet, 5.25 inches (1.66 meters) in the high jump for a provisional mark. In the long jump, Radic soared 18-5 (5.61 meters) and cleared 39-7 (12.06 meters) in the triple jump to improve her provisional mark from last week.

Maricia Spence jumped 18-3.25 (5.57 meters) to take third in the long jump.

Allyssa Mahone placed third in the weight throw (49-1.75 or 14.98 meters) and teammate Mia Van Oudstoorn was fourth in the shot put (41-10.5 or 12.76 meters).

Spence added a fourth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a clocking of 8.94 seconds.

The Belles' 4x400 relay team of Spence, Shiean Walters, Zykia McDaniel and Genevie Rivera took fourth with a time of 3 minutes, 55.34 seconds.

On the men's side, Ja'Micah Polk turned in a time of 6.82 seconds to place third in the 60-meter dash to hit a provisional mark.

Kyle Lumpkins gave the Rams a fourth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles (8.37).

Emmett Seals hit a provisional mark with a third-place time of 6.82 in the 60-meter dash.

Josh Body hit a provisional mark with a fifth-place finish in the triple jump (47-10.5 or 14.95 meters) and he placed third in the high jump (6-4 or 1.93 meters).

Canon Andrews took third in the weight throw with a mark of 56-10.25 (17.33 meters), and Ryan Pickett was fourth in the shot put (50-6 or 15.39 meters).

The Rams and Belles return to Lubbock next weekend to compete in the Texas Tech Multis on Friday, Jan. 28.
