Animal shelter needs volunteers

Aug. 31—Decatur Animal Services is seeking volunteers for the shelter.

There's an immediate need for volunteers to help with cleaning, walking and socializing the animals. Applicants 16 and older will be allowed to work with animals after preliminary training.

Background checks need to be pre-approved for applicants 18 and older.

Decatur Animal Services, located at 300A Beltline Road S.W., is open Mondays through Fridays, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
