These species desperately need our help.
You may already know which animals are on the endangered species list - black rhinos, gorillas, chimpanzees, Asian elephants, and some subspecies of dolphins, to name a few - but there are a lot of animals out there listed as "vulnerable" and "threatened," meaning they're on the brink of being considered endangered. That label means that they need our help. Conservation efforts have given many species a chance to rebuild and avoid endangerment or extinction in the past, so it's not impossible to keep these populations from decreasing. Here's a look at some of the animals currently are at risk of becoming endangered.
