From Ann: May comes alive with the elements of art

One weekend every May our Main Street comes alive with color, texture, form, line, shape and space. These elements create the sensory buzz of Artisphere, presented by TD Bank, and reflect Greenville’s very own art scene, vibrant, diverse and engaging as our city itself. We’ve devoted a significant amount of our Arts Issue to the festival, happening May 12-14. It’s one of our favorite events.

The unveiling of the 2023 Artisphere commemorative poster image. The "Sneak Peek" event was held at Genevieve’s at the Peace Center. Guests were able to meet some of the artists behind the commemorative images and learn about programming highlights for the 19th annual fine arts festival, to be held May 12-14.

In this edition we take a deep dive into the artistry of local talent in their respective mediums. Handmade objects from across the world and down the road are showcased in our Trending feature. The globally influenced interior styling of Danielle Walter of Diggs Design works magic in the home of the Stone Family.

Contributor Renata Parker explores the gallery at the Grand Bohemian Lodge, with its impressive collection of acclaimed local, national and international artists.

Beyond visual art, we explore the culinary artistry of Stephanie Bolden and her journey through the Village Launch business incubator that led to her personal chef and catering business. Called Chefanie, Bolden’s art is crafting meals that bring people together. We also bring you the art of finding connection through 613 Boutique owner Ashton Link’s mission to support local artisans

All exceptionally creative and inspiring in their own way and reflecting the patchwork of our town. So, whatever medium lights your fire this issue has plenty to offer.
