As Maryland's COVID-19 health metrics continue to spike upward, some hospitals and county agencies are taking emergency actions. Anne Arundel County's case rate is the highest it has ever been during the pandemic, and it has pushed Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis into emergency mode. Every hospital bed is full, emergency room volumes are at a record high and hospital officials said they've had 16 COVID-19 related deaths since Dec. 1.
