Annor Boateng scores 23 on Senior Night; No. 4 Little Rock Central beats Jonesboro 62-40

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – In front of family and friends, Annor Boateng said after the game that he knew he had to put on a show for his last game at Central High.

He did just that. Arkansas’ No. 1 prospect for the class of 2024 and Missouri signee dropped 23 points in his senior sendoff on “The Blacktop”, as No. 4 Central rolled against Jonesboro, 62-40.

Central head coach Brian Ross said after the game that his team plays with no fear.

“We just needed to get back to playing our style of ball that we were playing earlier in the season,” Ross said. “Our word all year has been finish. We’ve had a great season, we’ve had the same season we had last year in terms of our record, but now it’s time to put it on the line and finish in the state tournament.”

With the victory, the Tigers finished the regular season at 24-6 overall, 9-3 in 6A Central, tying No. 7 North Little Rock for second place in the conference behind No.3 Bryant.

The Class 6A State Basketball Tournament will start next Tuesday, Feb. 27 at North Little Rock High School.
