Annual donation by GSCC President Murphy to provide for Cardinal Foundation scholarship

Gadsden State Community College President Dr. Kathy Murphy is making an annual donation to the Cardinal Foundation in honor of the organization’s past presidents which will be used to award a scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to a deserving student attending Gadsden State full-time, according to a press release.

"It is an honor for me to donate to an organization that has been supportive of Gadsden State for a decade now," Murphy said in the release. "It is fitting that we name the scholarship for those who have led other volunteers in raising funds to support our College and our students. Their service over the years has been very much appreciated."

Past presidents of the Cardinal Foundation include Brian Snell, Steve Hildebrant and Mark Condra, the release said. Come July 1, Tommie Goggans III will assume the presidency.
