Annual farm tour is Sunday

Jul. 13—The annual Rogue Valley Farm Tour is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 17.

It is self-guided tour, so participants can go to whichever farms they want and visit at their own pace, according to the event website. A brochure and maps are available on the site, at roguevalleyfarmtour.com/events.

The brochure contains phone numbers and addresses of all the farms, as well as information about activities planned at each stop that day.

The free tour includes 26 stops throughout the valley, but organizers say most visitors will be able to fit just three to five farms into their day. Many farms offer activities for children, farm products for sale, as well as food.

Organizers ask visitors to leave pets at home.

Other tips include: Bring a water bottle and cooler to store farm-fresh goods you purchase on the tour; wear shoes you don't mind getting dirty; stay on established paths; don't pick produce or flowers without permission.

In Central Point, Medford and Ashland, farms include Martin Family Ranch, Rusted Gate Farm, Dunbar Farms, Dos Mariposas Vineyards and Lavender, Fry Family Farm, EdenVale Winery and Voorhies Mansion, The Farm at SOU, Willow-Witt Ranch and Valley View Orchard & Long Walk Vineyard.

Sams Valley stops are the Oregon Bee Store, Liongate Farm and Alpacas at Lone Ranch.

In the Applegate Valley, farms are Oshala Farm, Applegate River Lavender Farm, Siskiyou Seeds, Whistling Duck Farm, Salant Family Ranch, The English Lavender Farm, Rogue Artisan Foods, TerraSol Organics, Herb Pharm, Plaisance Ranch and Goodwin Creek Gardens.

Grants Pass farms include Rogue Creamery Dairy & Farmstand, Fort Vannoy Farms and Daily Blessings Farm.
