Annual Galentine’s Wellness Event held in Perry County

PERRY COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Sunday was the third annual Galentine’s Day Wellness event in Perry County.

Capital Blue Cross, UPMC, and the American Heart Association came together at Perry Strength and Fitness Center for the event.

Organizers said health and wellness should always be a priority, but perhaps even more so during February.

“Especially being February, it’s National Heart Month where the number one killer of men and women is, unfortunately, heart disease, so it’s a way to bring the community in and educate on these diseases, awareness, and showcase some of the local female-owned vendors in the area,” Co-Owner of Perry Strength and Fitness Center Patty Sibbach said.

The event was free and guests had to bring a nonperishable food item to help the Midwest Food Bank of Pennsylvania.
