The 10th annual High Desert Economic and Real Estate Symposium & Forecast will return to the Victor Valley next month.

Hosted by Coldwell Banker Commercial on March 16 at the Victor Valley College Performing Arts Center, the guest speakers include Economist and Director of UCR School of Business Center Dr. Chris Thornberg, who will present the "Economic Review and Forecast."

Additionally, Managing Director of CBC Worldwide Daniel Spiegel will share his national commercial real estate review, and Rep. Jay Obernolte will share his “Blueprint for Success.”

Andrew Mack, Brightline West’s SVP of Development, Strategy, and Permitting, will discuss the high-speed rail system connecting Las Vegas and Southern California.

CBC Real Estate Solutions President Jason Lamoreaux, CBC Industrial Expert Vice President Bob Basen, and CBC Vice President and Multi-Family Specialist Jerrad Schendel will present the State of the High Desert Commercial Update, Review & Forecast.

Coldwell Banker Home Source President Chris Lamoreaux will present the Housing Market Historical Review & Forecast.

During a panel discussion, town, city, and county leaders will share insights into infrastructure projects, transportation, population growth, and economic development in the High Desert.

The scheduled panel speakers include Adelanto City Manager Jessie Flores, Town of Apple Valley Manager Doug Robertson, Barstow City Manager Willie A.  Hopkins, Jr., Hesperia Assistant City Manager Rachel Molina, Victorville Deputy City Manager Sophie Smith, and County of San Bernardino Economic Development Director Derek Armstrong.

Speakers will also discuss BNSF Railway’s state-of-the-art master-planned rail facility in Barstow and the first being developed by a Class 1 railroad.

The Barstow International Gateway will be an approximately 4,500-acre new integrated rail facility on the west side of Barstow, consisting of a rail yard, intermodal facility, and warehouses for transloading freight from international containers to domestic containers.

The facility will allow the direct transfer of containers from ships at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach to trains for transport through the Alameda Corridor onto the BNSF mainline up to Barstow.

The High Desert Economic and Real Estate Symposium & Forecast are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on March 16 at VVC, located at 18422 Bear Valley Road in Victorville.
