Annual Jewel Awards Banquet held at Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson

The 22nd Annual Jewel Awards Banquet was presented by the Jackson Madison County African American Chamber of Commerce on Feb. 18 at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in downtown Jackson.

The awards ceremony celebrates locally owned African American businesses and their commitment to fulfill their own American dream with endurance and perseverance. Awards are presented to businesses based on the number of years in business.

Guests were treated to a buffet dinner, an awards presentation and entertainment by the Smooth Jazz Progressions band.

The JMCAACC's objective is to help new and existing businesses reach their potential by using our resources to connect them with major corporations, community leaders, and other business owners so that they learn, grow and network for greater economic development and success.
