Annual March for Life Begins on National Mall in Washington

Large crowds gathered on the National Mall in Washington on Friday, January 21, for the annual March for Life rally, the largest anti-abortion demonstration in the country.

“Tens of thousands” of protesters attend the rally on the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v Wade ruling, which legalized abortion in all 50 states, according to the event’s website.

A case currently before the Supreme Court could potentially overturn the landmark decision.

Multiple street closures were in effect as demonstrators were scheduled to march down Constitution Avenue toward the Supreme Court building.

Footage posted by Pennsylvania Rep Frederick Keller shows him in attendance at the event.

“Great to be with so many pro-life Americans today at the March for Life,” he wrote in a tweet. “I will continue to support policies that ensure every life has the chance to realize its fullest potential.” Credit: Congressman Fred Keller via Storyful
