Annual Northeast Ohio Sportsman Show drawing a crowd this weekend
The 14th annual Northeast Ohio Sportsman Show opened Thursday afternoon at the Mount Hope Event Center and will continue today and Saturday with seminars, entertainment, vendor displays and just about anything else an outdoorsman can imagine.
About 170 vendors have set up tables and there is a full schedule of hunting and fishing seminars; ones for kids, too. Topics range from cover deer and turkey hunting to forest and whitetail management and stalking and tracking the ultimate whitetail. Also on the hunting seminar stage will be presentations on waterfowl.
Other attractions are a watercraft display and show and information on fishing and hunting charters, including tracking elk, moose and bear out-of-state.
One of the new vendors is Creston's Bearded Butcher Blend Seasonings. Representatives have all of the fixings to make wild game taste better, and also talk hunting with visitors.
Cabela's is at the show for the first time, too.
On Saturday, the Buckeye Big Buck Club will score antlers 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
One of the booths not to miss is Kaby Lodge, an Ontario, Canada, fishing outfitter. The lodge is giving away a fishing package for two.
Parking is free at the Northeast Ohio Sportsman Show, while the cost to enter is $10 for adults, with children 10-under free. Show hours are 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.
