Annual Turkey Day 5k draws crowd of givers in Jackson

The 18th Annual Turkey Day 5K was sponsored by Gold's Gym and Fleet Feet on Nov. 24 in Jackson. Over 600 runners participate in the event each year, benefitting the Regional Inter-faith Association (RIFA).
Trading a leisurely Thanksgiving morning for a brisk 5k run, participants put those in need first by raising funds for the nonprofit, which provides food, hope and faith for those in need.
"RIFA is so thankful for the donations received from this event. Because of the support of our community, we are able to continue to reach out with the love of Christ to provide spiritual and physical nourishment," race organizers said.
