Franchisee Ellen Kendrick confirmed that the dessert restaurant closed in December 2023.

She attributed the closure to “a combination of the rent being too high and business being too slow,” Kendrick said in a text. “We couldn’t make it.”

Buzzed Bull Creamery was the second dessert concept to close in the location at 111 Summit at Fritz Farm; it followed Steel City Pops, which was one of The Summit’s original tenants when it opened in the spring of 2016. Steel City Pops closed in 2021 after the Alabama-based chain closed most of its stores. The location was in a high-profile spot opposite Shake Shack on the artificial turf “lawn” at the heart of the upscale shopping center.

Buzzed Bull Creamery specialized in ice cream that was flash-frozen using liquid nitrogen. The super cold temperatures let adult customers add in alcohol like bourbon and other whiskeys, vodka, tequila, rum or various liqueurs for grown-up treats.

Family-friendly options also were available at Buzzed Bull Creamery and kids were big fans of watching the “smoke” from the liquid nitrogen turn milk into ice cream right before their eyes.

“We were sad to see Buzzed Bull leave, but we are in negotiations with another tenant for this location and are hoping to make an announcement in the near future,” said Brian Voyles, general manager of The Summit at Fritz Farm.
