While investigating the break-in, officers reportedly encountered several loose dogs in the street outside the building. Officers say one dog displayed aggressive behavior and charged at an officer who fired their service weapon and fatally struck the dog. The officer was not bitten in the incident.

This was the second dog killed by CMPD officers Thursday. Another deemed aggressive was shot amid a triple-arrest off of Walkers Ferry Road.

The breaking and entering suspect barricaded himself in a back room of the building. Officers made entry into the building and located and arrested the suspect, 32-year-old Terrance Davis.

Davis is charged with Felony Breaking and Entering and Resist or Delay a Public Officer.
