Ansonia students were home Friday morning after the FBI contacted Ansonia police about a threat to blow up the middle school.

“The investigation showed there was on ongoing neighbor dispute where one neighbor alleged that during a verbal argument the other neighbor said they were going to blow up the house and middle school,” police said.

The accused neighbor denied the allegations and cooperated with police.

Investigators were able to interview all parties involved and found no substantial evidence of the claim.

As a safety precaution, Pre-K students were sent home as all other students were working remotely. The school was inspected by officials and bomb sniffing dogs. Nothing was found, police said.
